Proteome Factory AG has developed one of the most extensive proteome technology platforms in the world. The company offers individual solutions for the proteome analysis of body fluids like serum, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and urine as well as cells, tissues, organs and other complex protein mixtures. The sample material can come from animals, human being, cells in culture, microorganisms or plants.
Several different proteomics technologies are applied to proteome analysis. Beside extreme high resolution two-dimensional electrophoresis (2DE, 23x30 cm up to 60x30 cm) allowing separation of up to 10,000 proteins depending on sample we use chromatographic (HPLC) separation techniques and free-flow electrophoresis in combinantion with mass spectrometry for protein identification and quantitation. Depending on the analytical problem one or multi-dimensional chromatographic separation (MDLC) is used in a label-free approach (MudPIT). Or in combination with differential protein labeling technologies like MeCAT - metal coded affinity tagging - or stabel isotopic methods. Also protein mixture obtained from stable isotopic labeled amino acids in cell culture are analyzed.
Proteome Factory offers appropriate sample preparation methods for all kind of protein and proteome samples. High abundant proteins e.g. in serum or CSF are routinely depleted to increase sensitivity of proteome analysis allowing detection of more and of lower abundant proteins.
We have more than ten years experience in proteome analysis and we have performed many special proteomics studies of various kinds of sample material:
